As the Steering Committee works to refine the Goals and Objectives for the 2020 Comprehensive Plan Update, we invite you to engage in the process through a live virtual public forum on:

June 18, 2020 at 6:00p.m.

The meeting link will be live just before 6:00pm on June 18, 2020.  The virtual public forum will remain open to the public until July 5th.

The meeting will include a live overview presentation of the planning process, the initial discovery findings and the draft goals for the City’s future.  The virtual platform will then lead you through a series of topics including strong vibrant neighborhoods, economic prosperity, environmental sustainability and others, allowing you to provide your thoughts, concerns, and ideas about how the City can successfully move forward in the next 10 years.

Every step of this process relies on participation from Newport’s diverse community in order to ensure that their needs, desires, and values are reflected in the Plan. While typically we would hold open houses, public meetings and group town hall gatherings, restrictions on public gatherings have limited our ability to hold in person public engagement events.  Nevertheless, the importance of public engagement cannot be overstated.

The policies and implementation strategies in the Comprehensive Plan Update ultimately affect day-to-day experience in the city by providing guidance on important topics like future mobility and travel options; what new development should look like; priority locations for park improvements; and how the public interacts with social, economic, and natural environments.

Join us and make your voices heard! View the invitation and RSVP today.

You can also email to get more updated meeting information. If you cannot attend on June 18th, you can view the entire meeting presentation and participate in the forum online until July 5th.
